How To Commission Custom Art:
- 1st. Email pictures to me at info@karrenMgarces.com. Let me know what paintings you liked so I know what direction and style to use for your custom artwork.
- 2nd. Decide what size you want and if you have color choices. Some people do and others just allow me to let it flow.
- 3rd. I will send you a composition of your subject matter for approval. We will chat to confirm expectations & deadlines.
- 4th. I will follow up with a contract for signature and 50% deposit to get started.
I am only as good as the photo you send me so please try your best to send clear, crisp photos, avoiding night time and camera flash photography. A signed contract and 50% nonrefundable deposit is requested when I accept your commission and before starting the painting. The remaining 50% is due upon completion. Applicable sales tax will be added to all commissions. Turn-around time could be as soon as within the week or as far out as several months, depending on orders and your request. If you need it sooner, please let me know and I will do my best to accommodate. Before shipping I will email you a jpeg proof for your approval. One minor adjustment will be made free of charge and emailed once again for approval. Any adjustments beyond the first will require an additional $35/hour. Upon your approval and balance paid, I will send the painting to you. All original art is produced, sold and shipped unframed. Ground shipping and insurance is paid by the recipient and added to the final invoice. Payment can be made either by check, PayPal or Square.
I paint based on how the subject makes me feel. The end result leads to various styles (pop art, representational, abstract, etc.) and use of mediums (acrylic, pastels, marker, pen & ink, etc.) and techniques. Here are the differences…
What is Pastels: Pastels is an art medium in the form of a stick consisting of pure powdered pigment and a binder. The dry pigments used in pastels are the same as those used in oil paints. Custom art with pastel uses a special sanded grit paper. Artwork is ultimately matted and framed by the customer.
What is “Representationl” style: A style of art that is used to depict something that is easily recognizable. It is commonly defined in three ways 1) to look like or resemble, 2) to stand in for something or someone, 3) to represent.
What is “Pop Art”: Pop art is the modern movement of symbolism and dramatic styles that expands on abstract expressionism and pop culture. The ultimate result is an attitude and reaction to the visual image associated with the artists’ use of rendering techniques.
