Reflections of Spirit

"Reflections of Spirit" is a 24"x30" framed contemporary acrylic painting on board.  This painting took me in many different directions.  I was inspired to paint this picture based on a photo I had taken at a show jumping event in Miami in 2015.  The minute I saw my photograph I knew I wanted to paint it in a Pop Art style, but as I began painting it started to take a more representational (realistic) look.  Not at all what I had envisioned in my mind.  One morning it all came together, after days of struggle, self doubt and disappointment.  I practically erased all I had accomplished and started putting bold colors and strokes on the canvas until "the real me" began to emerge.  I love this painting for its shear process and development and where it took me in the end.
